Day 19 of 30 Days of Challenge

Day 19 : Disrespecting your parents

Well, what can I say. I think every kid disobey their parents or say something rude (or at least not nice) to their parents in the process of growing up, especially during teenage life. Its a matter of how bad you did it. I mean, there are of course boundaries or limit of being rebellious. No matter how they get on your nerves they are still your parents nonetheless. For me, I still argue with my parents, especially my mom until now. It's the truth, really. She can be quite over-protective at times. I will be 22 this year and I still need permission to go out (even on a date), and I still can't come home late. Coming back at 11:30pm and above is considered late, imagine after midnight. I only get excuse of coming home late when I have concerts, because sometimes concert can finish quite late, so, things like this is beyond not just her, but my control as well. Even though she can be my worst enemy sometimes for our clashing opinions about stuff especially on music, and my future, I know that she still my mom, and I will try not to be too much of a burden. I might not be the daughter who tell her everything about what I've been through, I might not hug her or say "I love you", I might not be her best friend, but I try not to be a burden, it's the best I can do. I don't ask her for money, I buy most of my things with my own money, the money that I worked for. I believe the same thing can be applied to any other child. Sure you don't get along with your parents sometimes and say things that you don't mean, but try not to go too far. Even if you're not close, just, don't do something awful such as hitting your parents, or steal their money or leave them when they're old and never come back to visit. I'm sure YOU don't want your children to do the same to you in the future. So, in conclusion, parents can really get on your nerve or make you feel not important, or make you feel stupid, but they're still your parents nonetheless, even if they're in prison or commit a crime, they're still your parents, you don't have to follow their footsteps, but that doesn't mean you should be disrespectful. So, try not to do things that you'll regret ;)
