Hello. Earlier today, I watched Home at the cinema. The animation movie about aliens and a teenage girl, and a cat named Pig. Anyway, I actually have high hopes for this movie since it was from the same creator as How To Train Your Dragon and The Croods. One thing that bothers me about watching animation, or any G-rated movies will be the annoying kids that will either scream or cry in the hall. I know, I shouldn't complain because they are pretty much among the targeted audience. Still, I just can't help but feeling annoyed. Anyway, about this movie, Home is kinda like how I feel like after I watch Big Hero 6, which will be a nice, funny, and heart-warming movie that is suitable for people of all ages, but too predictable. Just like Big Hero 6, I managed to guess the entire plot halfway through the movie. Again, I'm not completely upset by it or anything because those kind of things kinda make this movie more approachable to kids who are just about to understand stories and movies. So, I guess some direct plot without any surprises might be, in a way, nice for the younger audience. For someone like me, who love plot twist, of course I will feel like there's nothing special. However, I do think it is a nice movie, good to just relax and have some laughs :)
Also, I must mention that I love the morals in the story. In my own interpretation, I think this movie tells us about how in life, sometimes there are no villains, only misunderstanding, lack of communication, as well as ignorance towards people or things that we don't know much about. This movie shows that if you just put aside what you think is right or true, and just learn about what is right or true, then you might discover something that will mean so much to you. I think I can reflect this to many occasion in real life where people only believe what they want to believe without learning about the truth because they are just afraid that they might not like the truth, so they continue to live in ignorance. Also, this movie also shows about how sometimes we might think what people do to us is bad and wrong, without realizing that what they did is a reaction to our own actions. This, I'm referring to the conclusion of the movie where everything becomes okay. Sometimes, we just don't realize that we are the source of the problem that seems to always follow us everywhere, and sometimes we just don't realize that we hold the power to solve the problem because we are too blinded by what we choose to believe, or by what we fear. It is funny how I get all these morals from a movie with a plot that I guessed halfway through the movie. Like I said, it is a nice, heartwarming movie, regardless of the predictable plot. Also, I think the characters in this movie is pretty cool and seems to have a significant role in the movie rather than something pointless that don't have any impact on the movie. So, I would say all the characters are pretty balance in their roles to the plot.
All and all, if you want to relax and have some nice time, this will be a good movie for you. Or, if you want to take your kids or nephew or niece out for some fun quality time, then this might be a good activity as well. If I am to rate this movie from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I will give this movie a 6 ^_^
