The Nice Guys

Hello people.  I managed to have a movie session today.  I watched The Nice Guys which came out last week.  From the trailer this movie looks funny, and I had a long day and I needed something entertaining, nothing serious, so I thought this movie will be a good choice.  I don't really know how funny it was going to be, I just hope I will have some great laughs.  That was how high my expectation was, just enough to make me laugh.  Guess what?  I definitely got more than what I expected.  Not only did I laughed...I cried laughing.  It was hilarious, absolutely entertaining.  Definitely what I needed after such a long and tiring week so far.

As we all know, the main stars for this film are Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.  I have to admit that at first I felt like this was an odd combo, because I always see Russell Crowe as a an actor who plays more serious role.  In a way, his character is a serious one, it's Ryan Gosling's character that made me laugh so much most of the time.  But still, I didn't expect these two guys to make an unlikely team.  There are some nudity and lots of swearing, so definitely not a kid's film, just heads up to family people out there.  But to the rest of you, this movie is really entertaining.  What's nice about it though that despite it being really funny, it also has a sense of realism.  It shows how politicians or just simply people with power, can get away with their crimes and it shows how very little justice there truly is in life.  And you can also see some personal struggles from Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe's character that they wish not to talk about but somehow they are carrying that weight on their shoulders all the time.

Honestly, to think of it....even the ending is quite real.  In a way that whatever happens, your life continues, so it feels like a good ending, but at the same time it's not a happy ending, it's just that life goes on.  I don't know if it makes sense but if you go and watch it, you will definitely understand.  It's not that common to have a movie that has a sense of realism, but was told in such a comical way.  I laughed so much, I mean, I cried laughing, so you can just imagine how amused I was...but at the same time I can see and sense that aspects of realism in the plot.  Which is amazing, and I love that.  Will I recommend this movie?  Yeah, definitely.  I can't tell much without giving spoilers because if I tell you what makes it funny, then I'll be spoiling it for you.  So, you just have to watch it.  It's either I'm too easily amused or this film really is hilarious.  Which one it might be is up for you to decide ^_^ If I am to rate this movie from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I will give this movie 7.5/10.  I really needed to laugh today and this movie gave me so much of that.  I'm still laughing just thinking about it.  That's all from me for now, until next time.  Toodles~
