Bridget Jone's Baby

I went to watch Bridget Jone's Baby just now.  It's the release day in UK today ^_^ I enjoyed the two Bridget Jone's Diary films.  Definitely one of my favourite romantic comedy out there.  Not to forget Colin Firth always looks good in that film, and he definitely looks better with age.  Ever since Kingsman he just keeps looking better.  I wasn't really sure how to feel at first because Hugh Grant is not in the film this time round, and I always find the love triangle between the three of them very entertaining.  Nevertheless, after watching it, I think Patrick Dempsey managed to bring himself as a new character into the franchise rather nicely.  A new and fresh addition.

I must say, I went through a lot of emotions throughout Bridget Jone's Baby.  The chemistry that Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Patrick Dempsey created were both funny and awkward.  You can just feel the awkwardness of not knowing if you're the father of the child and having to go through the pregnancy together.  [Potential spoiler] I like how the bromance of them being the gay couple and Bridget as the surrogate being absolutely hilarious.  I mean, who wouldn't think like that in this time and age?  Two men attending pregnancy activities with a pregnant woman, so entertaining.  I can just imagine the amount of fan fiction between the two guys that will come in the future.  I like how at times the plot manage to make you feel sorry for Bridget (Renée Zellweger), and at times make you feel sorry for Mark (Colin Firth), and at times make you feel sorry for Jack (Patrick Dempsey).  I like how the flow of the plot can make you root for all three of them at different stages of the film as the plot progress.

Regardless if you have seen the two Bridget Jone's Diary films, I will still recommend this to you.  It's an entertaining romantic comedy film.  If you are a fan of Bridget Jone's Diary then this will be quite a nostalgic one with all the returning cast members.  Definitely one of the best romantic comedy film that I have seen this year.  Entertaining indeed.  I am so happy when the sequel manage to live up to the previous one(s).  If I am to rate this film from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I will give this film 8/10.  That's all from me for now.  Until next time, toodles~
